Sorry I'm Not Sorry

Public figures apologize every time they make a mistake. You often read about a famous person’s apology before you even knew they did something wrong to begin with. Do we really need to hear public announcements every time a misstep occurs? It gets a bit redundant when people start saying sorry for every little thing.

Celebrities and politicians are held to a higher set of standards because they are monitored by the media through a microscopic lens. Maybe they should learn to act more appropriately and maybe we should stop caring so much about what they are doing.

Seems to me the public apology is more commonly used as a platform to increase awareness or garner buzz around a famous person merely to maintain his or her relevance in the public sphere. An apology is less sincere when it's used as a means to rectify someone’s reputation.
